NEW TITLE OF HM PRISON SERVICE

Early day motion 860, tabled 17 March 2004 by Andrew Rosindell (Conservative). Signed by 13 members.

That this House notes the proposed deletion of 'H.M.' from the Prison Service; regrets this proposal and the disgraceful failure to notify the Sovereign; further regrets the gradual and creeping air of republicanism which permeates Government thinking; and urges Her Majesty's Government to repudiate this trend and highlight the vital role of the Crown in our national life.
