LOTTERY PRIZE MONEY FOR THE HOSPICE MOVEMENT

Early day motion 697, tabled 25 February 2004 by Lindsay Hoyle (Labour). Signed by 73 members.

That this House notes that millions of pounds of Lottery prize money goes unclaimed each year, with the total amount of unclaimed prize money standing at ú607.2 million as of 31st January; recognises the difficulties hospices have in raising adequate funds in order to provide the high standards of care on offer; and calls on the Government to channel the unclaimed Lottery prize money to hospices so that a first class standard of care can be provided to those in need.
