LONDON WEIGHTING FOR FURTHER EDUCATION TEACHERS

Early day motion 1192, tabled 13 May 2004 by Neil Gerrard (Labour). Signed by 36 members.

That this House notes the lobby of Parliament on 13th May by further education teachers in support of their claim for a ú4,000 London weighting; notes that at least this amount is needed to achieve parity with other workers such as schoolteachers, police officers and firefighters and to bring pay levels closer to the reality of London prices; and urges the Government to make the funds available to allow colleges to meet this claim.
