VULNERABLE CHILDREN AFFECTED BY AIDS/HIV

Early day motion 1187, tabled 13 May 2004 by John Bercow (Conservative). Signed by 68 members.

That this House believes that specific attention needs to be given to orphans and vulnerable children affected by HIV/AIDS, and that commitment needs to be given to this marginalised group during the current review of the Department of International Development's HIV/AIDS strategy; and calls for efforts to be made to strengthen the capacity of extended families and communities to protect the rights of, and care for, the children, as well to ensure that governments provide them with access to schooling and health services.
