GOVERNMENT RECYCLING TARGETS

Early day motion 1112, tabled 4 May 2004 by Baroness McIntosh of Pickering (Conservative). Signed by 43 members.

That this House notes the Department of Environment, Food and Rural Affairs' Municipal Waste Statistics 2002-03 released on 29th April; is concerned that household recycling has only increased by two per cent. in the past year, while household and municipal waste creation continues to increase; does not believe that the Government is on course to reach its target of 25 per cent. household waste recyling by 2005; and challenges the Government to announce what steps it will now take to reach that target.
