FUTURE OF COMBINED HEAT AND POWER

Early day motion 1111, tabled 4 May 2004 by Baroness McIntosh of Pickering (Conservative). Signed by 50 members.

That this House takes note of the delayed publication of the Government's strategy for combined heat and power (CHP); strongly encourages the Government to stimulate the CHP market by promotion of CHP in the Renewables Obligation and by ensuring that the EU Emissions Trading Scheme actively promotes CHP; and urges clear action from the Government in order to achieve its CHP target of 8 Gwe by 2010, in particularly by firstly holding a meeting with industry to agree the way forward.
