TELEVISION SERVICES FOR BLIND AND PARTIALLY SIGHTED PEOPLE

Early day motion 1401, tabled 24 June 2004 by Brian White (Labour). Signed by 65 members.

That this House congratulates the BBC, ITV and Channel Four on their recent move to make their audio described programmes available on digital satellite for the thousands of blind and partially sighted people who can enjoy them on that platform; looks forward to the publication of the Office of Communications review of audio description targets; and hopes that this move by the Public Service Broadcasters will herald the beginning of an increase in the percentage and variety of programmes made accessible to blind and partially sighted people through audio description.
