DEPARTMENT FOR TRANSPORT AND LONDON UNDERGROUND PPP
Early day motion 1381, tabled 22 June 2004 by Harry Cohen (Labour). Signed by 29 members.
That this House notes the disclosure in the National Audit Office's recently published report on the London Underground PPP that the Department for Transport in 1998 set a budget for reorganising London Underground and procuring the PPP at ú70 million but that the actual cost just a couple of years later was ú180 million - ú170 million at 1999 values; and considers that the Department's financial chiefs were grossly incompetent in setting its budget figure.
