SECOND HOME DEVELOPMENT

Early day motion 1328, tabled 9 June 2004 by Gregory Campbell (DUP). Signed by 14 members.

That this House recognises the stabilising factor that permanent residents produce across the UK; is concerned that in many coastal towns second home development is causing problems, particularly in winter months when some towns are virtually closed; and calls upon the Government to produce a coherent policy whereby local communities can be safeguarded against such development bringing with it a potential increase in anti-social and criminal activity.

Signatures by party: Labour 9, Plaid Cymru 2, UUP 2, DUP 1.
