MR BRIAN HAW, PARLIAMENT SQUARE PEACE CAMPAIGNER

Early day motion 1483, tabled 8 July 2004 by John McDonnell (Labour). Signed by 23 members.

That this House condemns the Lords' characterisation of peace campaigner, Mr Brian Haw's placards of children killed or injured by war as litter and waste in their 15th June debate; expresses its concern at the Government's expressed intention to increase police powers in order to remove Mr Haw permanently from Parliament Square; and further reiterates its support for the right of peace campaigners to demonstrate in Parliament Square.
