ORGANIC ACTION PLAN

Early day motion 57, tabled 13 November 2002 by Joan Ruddock (Labour). Signed by 84 members.

That this House welcomes the announcement of an action plan for organic farming in England, and the target for the market share of British organic produce to increase from 30 per cent. to 70 per cent.; believes that this target is achievable as 74 per cent. of non-organic produce is already home produced; and therefore calls on the Government to put in place a programme of action to ensure that the target is met by 2010.

Signatures by party: Labour 47, Liberal Democrat 25, Labour/Co-operative 6, Plaid Cymru 3, Conservative 2, UUP 1.
