PRIVATISATION OF UK MEAT INSPECTORATE

Early day motion 314, tabled 9 December 2002 by Alan Meale (Labour). Signed by 87 members.

That this House is alarmed about the European Commission's proposal which allows for the privatisation of the Meat Inspectorate; notes the recent failure of similar attempts at privatisation of these services particularly in the USA; and calls upon the Government to resist any such attempts to privatise the protection of our nation's public health.
