PERFORMANCE OF THE EURO (NO.3)

Early day motion 305, tabled 5 December 2002 by Ian Davidson (Labour/Co-operative). Signed by 10 members.

That this House notes the announcement on 4th December of the latest German unemployment figures for November, which show that seasonally adjusted unemployment has reached 4.16 million or 9.7 per cent. of the workforce; further notes that this is the highest rate for five years; further notes that with the exception of one month, German unemployment has risen every month since the creation of the euro on 1st January 1999; and believes that this shows that the euro is not working.

Signatures by party: Labour 8, Labour/Co-operative 2.
