JOB CUTS IN THE FIRE SERVICE

Early day motion 205, tabled 26 November 2002 by John McDonnell (Labour). Signed by 32 members.

That this House does not believe that the current fire service dispute can be solved by inflicting cuts in jobs on the service; and notes that even under the Bain Inquiry proposals there would be a ú41 million budgetary shortfall which is the equivalent of a cut of 1904 firefighters jobs.
