SCHOOL ASTHMA POLICY
Early day motion 192, tabled 26 November 2002 by Jimmy Wray (Labour). Signed by 68 members.
That this House congratulates the National Asthma Campaign on its efforts in funding asthma research, offering help and advice to people with asthma and campaigning for a better deal for people with asthma; recognises that 5.1 million people in the UK, including one in seven children, have asthma and that it accounts for almost one third of all long term medical conditions in children; given the seriousness and scale of this life threatening condition, congratulates those schools that have an asthma policy in place; and calls upon the Government to ensure that all schools in the United Kingdom follow suit and implement an asthma policy guaranteeing children have immediate access to their inhalers and a school environment free from dangerous asthma triggers.
