MORATORIUM ON GM CROP TRIALS
Early day motion 141, tabled 19 November 2002 by Michael Weir (Scottish National Party). Signed by 18 members.
That this House notes the evidence presented to the Scottish Parliament Health Committee by the British Medical Association which called for a moratorium on GM crop trials because of the insufficient care taken to protect public health and the lack of public consultation about crop trials despite the steady increase in the number of trials; and supports the conclusion of the British Medical Association; and calls upon the Government to impose an immediate moratorium.
