ANTI-WAR ACTION BY TRAIN DRIVERS

Early day motion 484, tabled 9 January 2003 by John McDonnell (Labour). Signed by 25 members.

That this House applauds the courageous and principled action by the two Motherwell-based train drivers who have declined to operate a freight train carrying ammunition destined for deployment in a war against Iraq; and believes that the right to conscientious objection extends to all British citizens who refuse to participate or contribute to this threatened war.

Signatures by party: Labour 20, Plaid Cymru 3, Liberal Democrat 2.
