REGULATION OF LABELLING MEAT PRODUCTS
Early day motion 414, tabled 18 December 2002 by Alan Meale (Labour). Signed by 41 members.
That this House agrees with the Annual Conference of the National Council of Women of Great Britain held in Birmingham who urged Her Majesty's Government to agree that regulations be introduced to require the country of origin of any meat or meat sourced ingredients in all products for human consumption to be stated specifically and clearly because of the wide variations in food hygiene regulations and animal welfare practices outside of the United Kingdom.
