ITV AND MICHAEL JACKSON

Early day motion 688, tabled 6 February 2003 by Sir David Amess (Conservative). Signed by 6 members.

That this House, whilst recognising that Michael Jackson undoubtedly had a traumatic and somewhat unique upbringing, maintains that some of his actions as shown during the recent ITV interview should be condemned in the strongest terms; does not believe that such views and practices should have been given airtime and condemns ITV for doing so; and further believes that, having decided to go ahead and broadcast the programme, ITV should have clearly stated that they did not condone his views or actions.

Signatures by party: Labour 4, Conservative 2.
