NO SMOKING DAY

Early day motion 683, tabled 6 February 2003 by Liam Fox (Conservative). Signed by 43 members.

That this House notes that 12th March is No Smoking Day; restates its commitment to supporting all measures which make a practical contribution to the reduction of smoking in society; calls for public health education to focus particularly on the reduction of smoking among the young; but expresses its concerns at the failure to control the smuggling of cigarettes which has caused a decrease in the price paid for tobacco in the United Kingdom.
