B.A.A. IN THE SOUTH EAST

Early day motion 649, tabled 4 February 2003 by Graham Stringer (Labour). Signed by 6 members.

That this House believes that the recent announcement of the underlying profits for the last nine months of ú446 million is one indication that British Airports Authority is a monopoly and acts as a monopoly in the South East of England; and therefore calls on the competition authorities to carry out an investigation with a view to ending this monopoly by creating three separate companies based on Stansted, Gatwick and Heathrow.
