CLOSURE OF THE CROWN POST OFFICE IN BLYTH VALLEY

Early day motion 907, tabled 18 March 2003 by Ronnie Campbell (Labour). Signed by 23 members.

That this House is outraged that the Post Office is proposing to close the last remaining Crown Post Office in Blyth, Northumberland which serves 1,000 customers a day and makes a profit; supports the peoples 7,000 petition signed to date; believes that the proposed relocation is not a viable one as it does not cater for disabled customers or children in buggies as the store's aisles are too narrow and parking facilities are totally inadequate; and asks that the Post Office reconsider the closure.

Signatures by party: Labour 14, Liberal Democrat 7, Conservative 1, DUP 1.
