PARISH AND TOWN COUNCILS' RESPONSIBILITY TOWARDS SUB-POST OFFICES

Early day motion 894, tabled 14 March 2003 by David Drew (Labour/Co-operative). Signed by 17 members.

That this House welcomes the decision of the Stonehouse Town Council to buy its local post office; and believes that this is an excellent example of how parish and town councils can take a lead in supporting their communities by taking a stake in their sub-post office, which is usually at the centre of their community.

Signatures by party: Labour 9, Liberal Democrat 5, Labour/Co-operative 3.
