RAIL LINKS TO SCOTTISH FERRY TERMINALS

Early day motion 1338, tabled 4 June 2003 by Peter Duncan (Conservative). Signed by 12 members.

That this House notes the decision of Stena to abandon plans for a separate new ferry terminal in Loch Ryan, and instead share port facilities with P&O at Cairnryan; believes that the new joint terminal deserves continued links to the railway network to maximize the success of the North Channel crossing to Northern Ireland; and calls on the Strategic Rail Authority and Network Rail to commit to continued rail servies to Stranraer, and improved links to the new shared port.
