That this House warmly congratulates the City of Liverpool on its successful bid for City of Culture for 2008; notes with pleasure that the benefits of the achievement will be felt right across Merseyside and beyond; acknowledges the many attractive cultural qualities that Merseyside has to offer; and looks forward to the many developments and events that will take place as a result of this achievement.
