ELECTIONS IN NORTHERN IRELAND

Early day motion 1260, tabled 20 May 2003 by Gregory Campbell (DUP). Signed by 8 members.

That this House notes the democratic deficit that now exists in Northern Ireland with the further postponing of the Assembly elections that had been scheduled to take place initially on 1st May and again on 29th May and calls upon Her Majesty's Government to hold these elections at the earliest possible opportunity allowing people in Northern Ireland to express their views and allow immediate and serious discussions to ensue with all democratic parties having renewed their mandate.

Signatures by party: DUP 4, UUP 2, Conservative 1, Plaid Cymru 1.
