PROPOSED MERGER BETWEEN BRISTOL SHOGUNS AND BATH RUGBY

Early day motion 1168, tabled 8 May 2003 by David Drew (Labour/Co-operative). Signed by 9 members.

That this House expresses concern at the proposed merger between Bristol Shoguns and Bath Rugby given that it is against the expressed wishes of supporters of both clubs; and is disappointed that rugby seems to be following in the footsteps of football with clubs becoming a personal tool of the owner for disposal as appropriate.

Signatures by party: Labour 5, Labour/Co-operative 2, Liberal Democrat 2.
