CROWN IMMUNITY

Early day motion 1516, tabled 2 July 2003 by David Crausby (Labour). Signed by 47 members.

That this House is concerned that Crown bodies cannot be prosecuted for any identified health and safety failings because of Crown immunity; and calls on the Government to give this matter the priority it deserves and to introduce legislation to remove Crown immunity from statutory health and safety enforcement as a matter of urgency in order to rectify this injustice.
