CLOSURE OF LLOYDS TSB BRANCH, EDINBURGH PLACE, CHELTENHAM

Early day motion 1455, tabled 23 June 2003 by Lord Jones of Cheltenham (Liberal Democrat). Signed by 9 members.

That this House deplores the decision of Lloyds TSB to close their Edinburgh Place branch in Cheltenham despite it being profitable; believes the reasons given by the bank for the closure do not stand up to close scrutiny; notes that the proposed closure will deny access to banking services to many of the bank's loyal customers in the area; and calls on the company to reconsider.
