MR JIM CAIRNS

Early day motion 1766, tabled 16 October 2003 by Lord Cryer (Labour). Signed by 20 members.

That this House notes with sadness the death of Mr Jim Cairns, the former deputy prime minister of Australia, a courageous campaigner for peace who stood up to the US invasion of Vietnam and Cambodia; and calls on today's politicians to follow his example of principled anti-imperialism.

Signatures by party: Labour 15, Liberal Democrat 2, Plaid Cymru 2, Labour/Co-operative 1.
