TRAINING OF STUDENT NURSES FROM ABROAD

Early day motion 123, tabled 11 July 2001 by John McDonnell (Labour). Signed by 24 members.

That this House expresses its alarm at the proposal from the Department of Health that from 1st November bursaries to support student nurses from non-European Union countries are to be withdrawn; and believes that this retrograde step will worsen the crisis in nurse recruitment in this country.
