BRITISH WAR DEAD

Early day motion 1899, tabled 11 November 2003 by Paul Marsden (Liberal Democrat). Signed by 36 members.

That this House honours the British dead of the first World War and is greatly concerned by Belgian plans to build an extension to the A19 which will extend the roadway over a first World War site between Ypres and Passchendaele, forever buying in concrete the unmarked graves of those who gave their lives in the defence of freedom, peace democracy; and urges the British Government to intervene to ensure the battlefields are peacefully preserved for the memory of those brave soldiers.

Signatures by party: Labour 19, Liberal Democrat 11, UUP 2, Conservative 1, Independent Ulster Unionist 1, Labour/Co-operative 1, Scottish National Party 1.
