That this House registers its deep regret at the sudden death at 51 of the Yorkshire Post's much-respected chief sports writer Robert Mills; expresses its sincere condolences to his widow Angela, his three children and to his colleagues at the Yorkshire Post; salutes his peerless writing style and his enormous contribution over the last two decades to the coverage of Yorkshire county cricket, Test cricket and of sport in general; notes the warm tributes that have flooded in from the cricketing world, including from Fred Trueman and Dickie Bird; and agrees with the Yorkshire Post that life has lost one of its beacons.
