CHRISTMAS STAMPS

Early day motion 1864, tabled 4 November 2003 by Paul Burstow (Liberal Democrat). Signed by 33 members.

That this House notes that this Christmas will mark the third consecutive year in which Christmas stamps have portrayed only secular designs; recognises that this year's stamps featuring ice sculptures reflect a diminishing direct connection with Christmas; and calls upon Royal Mail to restore the long tradition of rotating the design of Christmas stamps between religious and secular themes on a yearly basis.
