NUCLEAR REPROCESSING

Early day motion 179, tabled 18 July 2001 by Paul Flynn (Labour). Signed by 26 members.

That this House congratulates the Energy Minister on his decision to end all nuclear reprocessing at the Dounreay nuclear complex in Caithness; recognises that nuclear reprocessing is an unnecessary, expensive and environmentally harmful industrial activity; and invites the Energy Minister to include a full review of reprocessing at Sellafield in the current energy policy review.
