IRISH STUDENT NURSES

Early day motion 175, tabled 17 July 2001 by John McDonnell (Labour). Signed by 28 members.

That this House deplores the proposal by the Department of Health to withdraw bursaries from Irish nursing students from 1st December and considers that such a measure will not only undermine the ability of Irish students to undertake nurse training but will inevitably exacerbate the nursing shortage faced by the NHS.
