LOCAL GOVERNMENT ELECTIONS IN WALES

Early day motion 170, tabled 17 July 2001 by Nigel Evans (Conservative). Signed by 3 members.

That this House condemns the proposals by the ruling Lib-Lab coalition in the Welsh Assembly to delay the holding of local government elections by 12 months until May 2004; notes the insensitivity of the ruling group to the democratic wishes of the people of Wales; and calls on them to ensure that these elections take place on the planned day in 2003.

Signatures by party: Conservative 3.
