WAVERLEY LINE

Early day motion 675, tabled 16 January 2002 by John Barrett (Liberal Democrat). Signed by 14 members.

That this House recognises that the development of a Waverley line from Edinburgh to Carlisle is linked to the capacity of Waverley Station in Edinburgh and therefore welcomes the recently announced £400 million investment by the Strategic Rail Authority into Waverley Station; and calls on the SRA to bring forward, at an early date, detailed proposals to ensure early delivery of a high quality railway station to serve Scotland's capital city.

Signatures by party: Labour 8, Liberal Democrat 6.
