RAIL SERVICES IN THE SOUTH WEST

Early day motion 672, tabled 16 January 2002 by Gary Streeter (Conservative). Signed by 16 members.

That this House notes with concern the lack of any real improvement for rail services in the far South West contained in the recent Strategic Rail Authority's 10 year plan; and calls on the Government to take immediate and effective action to speed up train journeys to Devon and Cornwall, and in particular to set as a priority a consistent journey time of three hours from London to Plymouth.
