MURDER OF DANNY MCCOLGAN

Early day motion 656, tabled 15 January 2002 by Harry Barnes (Labour). Signed by 32 members.

That this House unreservedly condemns the brutal and sectarian murder by so-called loyalist paramilitaries of postman, Danny McColgan; further condemns the threat against other catholic workers; and supports the Irish Congress of Trade Unions' decision to call a protest rally at Belfast City Hall and a half-day stoppage on Friday 18th January to express the widespread revulsion at the increasing incidence of sectarianism in Northern Ireland.

Signatures by party: Labour 18, Liberal Democrat 6, UUP 4, Labour/Co-operative 2, Plaid Cymru 1, Scottish National Party 1.
