EDUCATION AND SKILLS QUESTIONS

Early day motion 638, tabled 10 January 2002 by Bob Russell (Liberal Democrat). Signed by 1 member.

That this House expresses its displeasure that only eight oral questions tabled for Education and Skills on Thursday 10th January were answered in the time available; notes with disapproval the length of answers given by Ministers; wonders whether this is a deliberate ploy by Ministers to limit the number of questions they are obliged to answer on the floor of the House and thus limit the opportunity for Right honourable and honourable Members to put supplementary questions; and calls on Ministers and Shadow Ministers to be more succinct with their answers and questions respectively in order that more Members can put questions.
