SACKED MINERS

Early day motion 599, tabled 17 December 2001 by David Hamilton (Labour). Signed by 107 members.

That this House welcomes the Government's proposals to enhance the occupational pension rights of former coal miners sacked during the 1984-85 strike and who were not reinstated or re-employed again in the coal industry; and believes that this will help to address the injustices inflicted on mining communities by the Thatcher government.
