SCOTTISH RENEWABLE ENERGY CAPACITY

Early day motion 566, tabled 12 December 2001 by Michael Weir (Scottish National Party). Signed by 19 members.

That this House welcomes the findings of the renewable energy resource study commissioned by the Scottish Executive, showing that Scotland has the capacity to be self sufficient in electricity from renewable energy and will even have excess capacity; and calls upon the UK Government to take this into account and confirm that no new nuclear power stations will be built in Scotland.
