WELSH SELF-GOVERNMENT AND THE BRITISH LABOUR PARTY

Early day motion 525, tabled 5 December 2001 by Adam Price (Plaid Cymru). Signed by 8 members.

That this House wholeheartedly agrees with the assessment made in 1918 by Arthur Henderson, three times leader of the Labour Party and winner of the Nobel Peace Prize, that 'Given self-government, Wales might establish itself as a modern utopia and develop its own institutions, its own culture, its own ideal of democracy as an inspiration to the rest of the world'; and urges Labour honourable Members from Wales to re-affirm the founding values of their party for peace, socialism and self-government.

Signatures by party: Plaid Cymru 4, Scottish National Party 3, Labour 1.
