LABELLING OF DRUGS

Early day motion 512, tabled 4 December 2001 by David Curry (Conservative). Signed by 32 members.

That this House congratulates the Yorkshire Post for its Make it Clear, Make it Safe campaign, calling for major improvements to the labelling of medicines; notes the continuing needless loss of lives of patients caused by mistakes stemming from inadequate drug labelling; and calls on the Government to consider introducing new guidelines to create a standard format clearly listing details of medicines on labels which will make it easier for doctors and pharmacists to prescribe drugs and enhance patient safety.
