TENANCY DEPOSIT SCHEMES

That this House notes that, according to NACAB, nearly half of all tenants have suffered from the problem of their landlord not returning their deposit when they leave; congratulates the Government on the success of the recent government pilot scheme to hold rental deposits independently to prevent landlord-tenant disputes; notes with concern the prospect of the scheme discontinuing; and joins NACAB in calling for the Government to extend the scheme nationwide.
