TAX EXEMPTIONS FOR LPG CONVERSION

Early day motion 1116, tabled 12 April 2002 by Simon Thomas (Plaid Cymru). Signed by 22 members.

That this House notes that conversion of company cars to LPG is currently treated for tax purposes in the same way as installing a new hi-fi system to a new car; note the need to create incentives for conversion to LPG because of the environmental benefits of using this fuel, particularly with respect to air quality; and calls on the Chancellor to introduce a tax exemption for the cost of converting company cars to LPG.
