PROPOSED CONTINGENT LIABILITY IN RESPECT OF THE PUBLIC PRIVATE PARTNERSHIP FOR THE LONDON UNDERGROUND

Early day motion 1064, tabled 25 March 2002 by Gwyneth Dunwoody (Labour). Signed by 28 members.

That this House notes the Minute from the Department of Transport, Local Government and the Regions, dated 20th March, concerning a proposed contingent liability in respect of the issue of letters in support of the Public Private Partnership contracts for the London Underground; further notes that convention, practice and precedent allow Members 14 working days to object to such a Minute; and considers it imperative that the Government allows honourable Members of Parliament to have the proper opportunity to register their objections to the Government providing a de facto guarantee to the Public Private Partnership's infrastructure companies.
