ROCHDALE MUSIC SERVICE

Early day motion 960, tabled 7 March 2002 by Jim Dobbin (Labour/Co-operative). Signed by 14 members.

That this House congratulates Rochdale Borough Music Service under the direction of manager Fred Bowker for outstanding achievements this past year in which they have won first place in six contests at the Whit Friday Band Contests, become Youth Champions at the NWABB Manchester District Championships, received the highest accolade at the National Festival of Music at the Royal Festival Hall and been invited to perform at the Music for Youth Schools Prom at the Royal Albert Hall; and believes that the latest achievement of the Youth Band in becoming Youth Entertainment Champions of Great Britain at the Winter Gardens in Blackpool is a fitting tribute to the commitment and dedication of Fred Bowker, Eric Landon and Margaret Fielding and the entire music team in Rochdale Borough.

Signatures by party: Labour 12, Labour/Co-operative 2.
