REGISTRATION AND REGULATION OF NANNIES

Early day motion 946, tabled 6 March 2002 by Geraint Davies (Labour). Signed by 95 members.

That this House notes with concern the recent conviction of the nanny Kelly Lawrence for the assault on the children in her care; notes that nannies are not currently subject to registration and regulation; further notes that this lack of registration means that the working families tax credit is unavailable to pay nannies; and believes that nannies should be subject to registration and regulation immediately.
